Carter's Soccer

Well since Carter has started soccer, I figured that I should keep you all posted on how he is doing. First off, Brad and I are coaching. He loves that. Anyway, he really likes soccer, he asks me all the time when he is going to get to play another game. We just had team pictures, so I will be sure to get them out to everyone as soon as I get them back. We are technically not supposed to keep score, however I would just like to let everyone know that our little Carter scored his first goal last Saturday (11-15-2008). I will keep everyone posted on how he does.

Well It finally happened

I always knew that one day my children would be smarter then me. I mean come on their father can pass school without even showing up. But I was hoping that it would take a little longer then 4 years. Well it didn't. The other night we were getting ready to watch Wall E, that new Disney movie about the robot. Well I was going to put it in the DVD player, which is actually a game consol. Well we have recently started getting Blue Ray discs becasue they are better quality or something (I don't really know, I just watch the movies). Anyway the cases are a little bit different then the normal DVD cases. So there I was trying to open it, and could not for the life of me figure it out. Brad was like "just open it like normal." No not like normal, cause there is a little latch that most cases don't have. Anyhow, there I am struggling with the case trying to figure it out, and Carter goes "let me show you mom." Now just so you all know, I had just taken the plastic off of this DVD, so it's not like he had opened the case before, but sure enough he did "show me." Well at that point all of my dignity was out the window, so I just let him take over. My 4 year old son managed to open the case, take out the DVD, put it in the DVD player and start the movie (with a game controller that even I still have a hard time with sometimes). I like to think that I am a pretty savvy lady, but I am nothing compared to Carter.

On another note, I was driving home the other night and I called Brad. I guess he had left his phone downstairs. Anyway Carter noticed that the phone rang a few times, and he called me back. This is how the conversation when. Me: "Hello", Carter: "Mom?", Me: "Hi Baby", Carter: "My dad is upstairs, he left his phone down here", Me: "Oh, can I talk to him?", Carter: "Sure, let me go get him." What? my 4 year old knows how to use the phone. He even managed to send me a text message, granted it was blank, but I give him an A for effort. I think we are all in trouble if this little boy is already this smart.
